Feng Shui and Aquarium

After the earlier explanation of water and feng shui, I was asked to comments on the placement of aquariums and how it can be connected to the application of feng shui.

In most offices, it is common to hear about the politics and the corporate power struggles that are happening inside. The problems employers encounter each day with their office staff, the lack of cooperation and the list goes on... etc.

Some will wonder if there’s a method or a way that they could apply or use to help ward off such problems. According to the Jiu Gong Yii Kua Feng Shui practiced, placing an aquarium in the correct position/ sector in connection to the five elements will not only eliminate such problem that causes this imbalance, it can at the same time attributes and do activate chi to benefit in other ways than just bringing monetary prosperity.

Tips
1. The Chairman or The Managing Directors of the company will need to find out their personal Kua Number to locate the sector to place the aquarium.
2. Otherwise, they could also use their 4 auspicious directions or sectors to place the aquarium.
3. Placing an aquarium in the phoenix position in a main lobby of an office or building will help to enhance wealth, creating excellent feng shui.

Inauspicious position to place an aquarium
1. Do not place an aquarium in your bedroom. Your bedroom is a place where you need to really sleep and rejuvenate yourself. The aquarium symbolizes movement, when placed in a bedroom it can lead to suffer of losses, creating bad health, bad luck and bad career luck.
2. Do not place an aquarium at the west position, your white tiger sector (白虎方), your adultery sector (桃花方) and your five devils sector (五鬼方). When placed at these inauspicious positions it will cause one to suffer losses and face back stabbing from others.
3. The water level in the aquarium must not be higher than the owner’s chest as this will drown the owner.

The Right Fish for Your Aquarium
To help enhance wealth and to provide saviour (贵人), goldfish or carp is highly recommended. For big corporate, the arowana will be more suitable.

Fishy Story
In 1996, I was invited to do a review for Mr and Mrs X’s house. It is about 10,000 sq feet. In the main living room, Mr X has an aquarium which houses a beautiful arowana fish. As I go through the feng shui chart with Mr X, I explained to him that his personal kua, Shin Kung on the right hand side of the living room is his adultery position (桃花方). As he had placed an aquarium there, I suggest he remove the aquarium to the left hand side of the room to avoid the house occupants of committing adultery. Mr X immediately instructed his maids to move the aquarium. I left Mr X’s house after completing my review. Two years after my appointment with Mr X, I met Mrs X at a shopping complex while I was doing my shopping. She greeted me and we stopped for a chat. I asked her on their well being and this is what she answered me. “Mr Kueh, how accurate your review at my house is. After your review, I went to stay with my daughter (who is studying in UK) for 6 months. When I returned home, I noticed the aquarium was back at its original position. I didn’t think it was important then but after awhile I noticed some change in my husband. When I confronted him, he confessed to me that while I was away, he had an affair with his secretary and today he had a mistress. I was sad that this had happened but in a way, I had to admit that the placing of the aquarium is important as you had earlier warned us that adultery will happen if it’s place in that position. You see my husband move the aquarium back to the right hand side of the main living room while I was away." Mrs X bade me farewell after that. For me, I was sad that people choose to abuse the application of feng shui. It is a noble practised meant to help to enhance one living standard and not to abused it. So practised it wisely!
